some information for the museum and amber :
Palanga's Amber museum, is housed in the restored 19th-century Tiškevičiai Palace and is surrounded by the Botanical Garden .
The museum's collection of amber comprises about 28000 pieces, of which about 15000 contain inclusions of insects, spiders, or plants!! Many of these are items of artwork and jewelry.
The Baltic Sea coast has been a source of Eurasian amber trade since prehistoric times. (the known Amber Road)
In Lithuanian mythology, there is a legend of Jūratė and Kastytis, which imagines an undersea palace of amber under the Baltic sea, which was shattered by Perkūnas, the god of thunder!! Its fragments are still washes up on the beaches nearby...

The art museum of Palanga it’s mostly about amber, it’s not that big, takes like an hour to see. Many artifacts of amber and old furniture in the first floor. The surrounding garden is beautiful too. Stuff is polite. Recommend it!

Before visiting this museum, I thought that amber is a precious stone just like diamond , mined on the underground earth. Now I learned and know more about amber, thanks to this museum 🙌 highly recommended to visit to enrich your knowledge :)

This museum was well worth the trip. There's a huge variety of amber and good history of the region in many languages. The gift shop has Lithuanian certified amber for sale. There's also museum areas of the historical palace where this museum resides.

Amber is very important to Lithuania, as an industry and to its culture. This fascinating museum covers both aspects. There are 2 floors of exhibits, and there's a café. Probably not for young children, but older children, especially those interested in the history of Lithuania, should visit.
